Mission

Our mission is to do our part to make human rights a reality in our community and around the globe. Our work is guided by international human rights and humanitarian law and respect for the dignity of each human being.

Vision

To formulate and carry out educational programs designed to minimize or eliminate unlawful discriminatory practices.
To endeavor to eliminate discriminatory practices in our society.
To provide mediation services to foster positive communication between differing views in our community.
To cooperate with other organizations, private and public, to discourage discrimination.
To encourage fair treatment for all persons regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
To advise Columbia Public Schools administration on human rights issues.
To sponsor or initiate specifically targeted workshops and on-going programs to improve human relations and to decrease tensions in our community.
To present informational programs on human rights to school, business, service and other organizations.
